to anyone who knows or uses twitter?

i just got bored and made an account. so if i comment on someones tweet, is it a bit like commenting on someones status on facebook? or is it not as common? i've notice already that people have lots of tweets and no comments on them. so how does it work?

i think by is it common i meant, would it be really creepy if i commented on peoples tweets if i didn't lnow them (eg. famous or semi famous people)

As you have only 140 characters to make your tweet, then you need to try to think of something witty and interesting which will attract attention and eventually followers. Too many people put mundane things on Twitter and then wonder why nobody is interested in what they have to say. There are hashtag topics, which can be great fun, and you can soon find yourself interacting with celebs. It is also a good way of sponsoring charities and events, and getting helpful advice from friends and followers, posting your pics for comment, as well as getting news flashes right across the world. I have been regularly using Twitter for nearly 2 years and really enjoy it. I think Facebook really mainly appeals to younger folk, which is fair enough. My oldest granddaughter (16) uses Facebook, but I do not.
