i am new to twitter and i am wondering how to send a direct message? when i click on 2 it and write ''@ then the name'' and then my message its unable to send it.

To send a direct message to a user on Twitter, that person must be following for you to be able to direct message that person. So if that person is following you click on that person's username and go to that person's Twitter profile and on the right sidebar of that person's profile you will see in the middle section of that right sidebar a place written "Actions" and below this section you will see a link named "message". Click on the "message" link to send a direct message to that person.

You can also send a direct message to a person who follows you on Twitter by typing d + username + message into the Twitter update bar (where you type your tweets or what you are doing).
