How should I deal with family on Facebook?
All of my family members keep adding me on Facebook and writing on my wall. I'm in High School and I don't want anyone in my school that wants to visit my profile to see the posts, but I don't want to just delete them and make my family upset... What should I do?

i don't add my family, i just ignored their requests. just delete them. chances are they won't notice. or just talk to them, and tell them it's embarrassing.

My dad tried to add me, but I ignored his request.

I don't want my parents to be able to creep on my page!

Don't delete them, just don't respond.

They'll eventually stop trying.

But be nice to them when you get together with your family.

Then they'll know that it's nothing personal.

Wink

I just don't talk to them on facebook and only talk to them in real life. If they write on my wall, I just call them or talk to them later. After a while, they will just not write on your wall.

Ok Nick. If you don't want to remove your family, or create a separate account this is what you do. After you log in, go to settings on your profile, then click privacy settings. After that, on that page you click profile. Scroll down to wall posts. There you will find a little box, click that, and then click only me. Then click save changes. Your problem is solved! Only you can see you wall posts, and no one can see your family's wall posts on your profile page! And that makes you, your friends, and family happy!

You could do this: make up a new facebook page just for family, block them from your personal page and immediately send them a friend request for the family one. They won't be able to see that they've been blocked and you'll be removed from their friends list. When they ask what happened, just say that you decided to make a new one and start fresh. They won't be able to contact you through the other one anymore, but they still have a way of contacting you.
Or you could just hide ALL the comments so only you can see them and your family members will never know it's because of them.

My brother, sister in law, mom, dad, step mom, and cousins all have facebook. I am 20, and have kind of gotten to the point were I don't care what other people think of my family's posts. It's fun that your family is embracing facebook. Just leave the wall posts. No one really cares you'll find, just you.
