Do you mean relatives or ancestors? There are nearly 800 in the 1930 census and 8000 in current public records, so you need to be a little more specific.

We can help with the ancestors, since we research the dead here. But as for the living, have you asked your dad about any cousins?

There appear to be only 3 on the current published copy of the Electoral Roll for the UK, so not a common name here.
Have you tried looking at http://www.192.com to see if anyone is listed?

Social networks like Facebook are one rather indirect way of tracking down people with the same surname as you.

I found 6,603 entries for the surname Shinkle in a huge, free genealogy data base, RWWC:

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi

There are 664 who died after 1850 in the USA on another huge free site,
http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi

Are you looking to do genealogy research, or for living people who may have known a Shinkle when they were in high school?

Also, what country do you mean? Brits, Canadians, Aussies, Kiwis and Yanks all use this site.

(Kiwi is a slang term for those terribly shy, polite and devilishly handsome people who live in New Zealand. It isn't derogatory, nor does it refer to the fact many of them have big noses.)
