If you are really going to do it then just be yourself. Don't try to be something you are not to please other people and try to get noticed. Make videos of what you want because if your videos aren't something you yourself would watch then something is going wrong. Also don't make videos to get sent stuff from companies because that will be so obvious and nobody will want to watch your channel. It's not about getting free stuff it's about doing something you enjoy and perhaps helping a few people along the way.

1) Market to your peers

If you are going to do a channel on youtube realize all your classmates may be watching and judging the quality of your work, so try an approach that is both natural and appealing to the average beauty obsessed teen. Make sure the sound quality of your videos are good, the backdrop of your room is tidy enough to be on camera, and that you edit out as many mistakes as you can for a more professional vibe.

2) Keep up with trends

Keep up with the current beauty and fashion trends. Start a vlog and discuss not only what you see in the stores but what is popular in entertainment and TV. You should already know what will be hot for summer and fall 2012. If you don't alrady know what's in and what's out for the seasons make up your own predictions. For instance "nude lip shades are all the rage for fall 2012." Have fun there is no right or wrong way to do this.

3) Do tutorials

A tutorial is your best weapon when it comes to getting viewres because people will alway seek advice on how to do certain looks. Your tutorial should be a how to guide on today's pop culture. Play around with makeup concepts, get creative, and come up with awesome tips for every day glam. I suggest doing music video look or celebrity Looks
for instance Selena Gomez is always a super choice.

4) Cross promoote

Set up a Twitter, Makeupalley, and of course a Yahoo Answers account to gain popularity among online communities. The more you promote your brand by blogging, answering questions in forums, and giving advice online, the more knowlage and exposure you gain. don't be afraid to share what you know or post a link back you your channel when ever you comment or post on a site.

5) Compare products

Everyone wants to know which beauty products are superior to their competitors. For instance what's better China Glaze Crackle Shatter or OPI Black Shatter? Whats cooler Hello Kitty for MAC or Hello Kitty for Sephora? Which has the better fragrance Chanel Chance Eau Tendre or that Justin Bieber perfume, Someday?
