they're always preying on vulnerable adults too old to recognize the evil lying beneath the gentle exterior of pre-teen children.

14, 15, 16, 17 year olds shouldn't be on social networking sites.
Some people really do go through Facebook profiles and Myspace profiles with a fine-tooth comb. My roommate's sorority did, and a lot of employers do. Not only are they looking at your pictures and status updates, but they can also look through your page months and months back, and they can check the comments you post on other people's pictures and walls, up to 2 years back at times. Think I'm wrong? Think different, because I've seen my boss doing this. If a boss and leaders of a sorority can see all that information, so can a pedophile. |

Hello...
Exemplitory Essay: Dangers Of Social Networking For Children In today’s technology age, computers play a huge role in our day to day lives, the Internet especially. A growing trend on the Internet these days is social networking sites, such as Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, and Bebo. These sites are great for catching up with old friends and being able to communicate with people instantly without running up your phone bill. While social networking sites are ideal for adults, they are not, however, good for children. First of all, they hinder children’s social skills. Social networking sites are said to shorten attention spans, encourage instant gratification, and make young people self centered (Derbyshire). Children today don’t know how to communicate face to face with people. They would rather text or IM their friends than even think about having a verbal conversation with them. A fine example of this is my thirteen year old sister-in-law, Abbie. One night while we were visiting my in-laws, Abbie had some of her friends from school over... You can get more info here: |

Pedophiles
Creepy people Those are some of the reasons people under 13 should not be on Myspace, and Twitter. You might wanna make Yahoo Answers rated R, as a matter of fact. More graphic than Facebook. We have some of the nastiest "Seinfeld"ian things ever. lol But seriously... Kids should not be involved in social networking because of the dangers that lie in those sites. Pedophiles are usually on myspace, hunting and luring innocent children. It could catch people off guard. You might also wanna include this site too. A lot of R-rated things are posted on Yahoo Answers. Profanity, strong sexual content, etc. People do it, and some get away with it. That would be a great way to start your essay. |
