There are various methods of earning money on the internet - which is what probably led you to your question. You can pursue affiliate marketing, MLM/Network Marketing, and also top-tier direct sales programs.
As you may be aware, affiliate marketing offers commission on a per sale basis and in some cases offers referral bonuses for new affiliates you recruit. In essence, in affiliate marketing, you’re basically building someone else’s business...but that's better than building it from scratch in some cases. There are thousands of affiliate programs available. I equate the opportunity to having a farm and needing water. You would want to farm near a river rather than toiling over how to get water to grow your crop. So find a program that offers value to an eager audience! The traffic will naturally flow to you resulting in sales and income! Now, for most affiliate programs you’re only getting paid one time for the work you’ve done. In MLM, you’re building a business that will hopefully continue to pay you over and over, week in and week out, and your income grows over time. However, many MLM programs require you to build an enormous sales team or ongoing, loyal customer base before you see any residual income. They also require you to actively purchase product monthly and meet certain qualifications just to receive your commissions. Top-tier direct sales is another animal altogether. One of the major issues for people in MLM is in achieving positive cash flow. Top-tier programs promote higher ticket products and a sales ladder that provides a higher profit per sale. With this in mind, it is reasonable to think that someone can earn significant money more quickly in a top-tier program. Any and all of these choices I feel requires a strong marketing plan and system that would take advantage of the new Social Marketing avenues available. New Web 2.0 services like Twitter can really help you market your programs and drive sales. Within Twitter itself you can search on what people are discussing, these ideas may help you to understand buying trends and where you can find your niche. For example, one of my "tweeps" runs a dating service online. Twitter discussions give her insight to her client's biggest problems and she adjusts her marketing to address them. She then highlights products in her advertising that will hit their hot buttons. I hope this helps. Good luck with your choice!
