i need 3 important trends in society( local(california) , national, or global) and whether it is good or bad for society, what is causing it and what are the short term and long term effects.

Veganism - some believe that our bodies are carnivorous (they often site our teeth as evidence, as they were made for tearing meat), and that we deprive our bodies of essential nutrients when we abstain from meat and meat products.

social networking - facebook, twitter, what is that all about? Do we need it? Is it harmful or helpful?

Organic veggies and farming techniques - are they really healthier alternatives or is it just hype to get us to pay more for the same food?

graphic violence in Movies/TV shows - does this actually cause violent behavior in our youth? You could add video games to this category/trend or make it a separate trend.

reality TV - trash or treasure?
