Where can I promote my Young Enterprise project online and around my town?
I am taking part in Young Enterprise and my team has decided that we would do a waitressing and entertainment service around Newcastle. We have already done a few events for people we know but we want to start promoting it to people we dont know and I was wondering if you had any ideas of how to promote Elite Enterprise on the internet and around our town?
Thank you

I'm not familiar with Newcastle, however online solutions are always a great place to start. You should be covering all your bases in terms of social networking sites. Does Elite Enterprise have a Facebook page, Twitter account and LinkedIn profile? if not, begin there. Facebook pages have many ways of gaining in popularity and making appearances; this page has some interesting and helpful tips for marketing on facebook - http://www.focus.com/fyi/facebook-market...-facebook/
Twitter is a bit more work for young enterprises but the most valuable tool, especially and mostly when connected with the Facebook account. Always remember that social networking is 'social' and therefore one should not eliminate this element as is so often done when attempting to establish professionalism. Keep it professional for sure, but encourage discussion and unique and interesting trends which relate to and will bring others back to your account. With this in mind, keep selling and intense self-promotion more low key as spam can yield the opposite results.
Finally, don't limit yourself, Digg, Reddit and other news/social news sites are definitely gaining in popularity, get yourself on Wikipedia as well to help your reputation. Yahoo Buzz and Scribd are also great sites to get on. Digg and Reddit as well as many others, for best results, require avid, interesting and professional blogging. Do not rush these blogs just for the sake of having many, as readers are usually critical and have high expectations.
Be sure to connect all your social networking sites with the goal of creating a professional, friendly and comfortable environment. One that is not overrun by narcissistic self-promotion, but instead subtle marketing which spreads the word and boosts popularity. Hope this is useful..let us know when you have passed the stage of creating these and beginning to build your following. Also there are many sites which give website specific tips and tool for this sort of thing, so do some research first! good luck!
