Twitter will make your business into an open platform for any types of feedback, be that good or bad. The unique thing about Twitter is that everybody can see what someone says about you, so you better hope your business is good otherwise it could potentially have detrimental effects. On the other hand you could get people tweeting about how good your business is and that would boost sales etc.

Essentially if you create a Twitter account for your company you are showing yourselves as being a modern business which is not phased by new technology or trends. A very future conscious brand.

Another thing to bare in mind is that you need to keep close guard of your password, as you are a business you will inevitably have a lot of followers which is appealing to an account hacker. My advice would be to change your password regularly to avoid tweets which are harmful to your business.
