I found you some stats - 53% of women read the daily newspaper compared to 58% of men. 65% of women read the Sunday newspaper compared to 63% of men (Scarborough Research 2002, Release 1)

Honestly, however, these are old and now so many people get their news online so trends are changing. I no longer subscribe to a real printed newspaper but I read a lot of articles online - ones mentioned on twitter or facebook. I suspect most people are in a smiliar state of transition now too.
