How does a shy person get a girlfriend?

I'm shy, like painfully shy, I hate being talked to by multiple people at the same time, and having everyone focus in me. But I really want a girlfriend? I'm 13 btw if it matters

yea you will either 1)grow out of it 2) stay shy ..im dating a shy guy now but he asked me out via Facebook so idk...sometimes girls will approach you regardless you will get use to it

I am also very shy but I have never tried to get a girlfriend it just happens for me. a lot of girls have asked me out I have never asked out any girls. Id suggest try to find a girl that you really like and try to talk to her over facebook and just try to see if she is interested and if she is just keep talking with her and eventually ask her if she wants to hang out if she doesn't ask you. If you don't want to ask her that then id suggest finding a girl that asks you to hang out. Chances are if a girl asks you to hang out that means she likes you. I have never had a friend thats a girl that hasnt tried to hook up with me
