What is more likely to be considered a conservative democrat?
One who is pro-union, regulator, progressive taxer, but more conservative on social issues such as guns, abortion, and family values......or one who is union busting, free market deregulator, trickle down economist, but very liberal on social issues?

Usually the party label is based on economic views. So in your example, the pro-union guy would be a democrat that was socially conservative. The Free market guy would be a liberal Republican.
