you need to get your site listed on DMOZ http://www.dmoz.org/add.html this will help your rankings a lot.

I personally think URL submissision si the best Way to go , it only took my website about 13 hours to get the 2nd page of the search results

then the very next day my website was on the front page.

go to RankNumberOneOnGoogle.Com
they will put your website front page of the major search engines in 24 hours or less.

Absolutely not! Ignore these schemes! They will do you far more harm than good in the long term and may even ultimately see your site Google-slapped. You do not want to go down that road - believe me.

Below is a link which should hopefully help you out. There really are no viable shortcuts.

Suzie B's response is right on. DMOZ.com registration is the only way to effectively post your URL on the major search engines/directories.

Good luck

What keyword(s) would you like to rank for? You don't get ranked for any keyword by simply submitting your site to directories unless that keyword is not being used by others.

To increase the page rank of your site, you have to build backlinks, ideally through massive article marketing where your signature uses your keyword as anchor text.

Directory submissions and the use of social media can help. But to dominate search results, you really need as many backlinks as you can get from relevant sites preferably with different domain names and IP addresses.

Try http://www.business2promote.com to get your site on Google top rank page. I tried it and works perfectly. I never thought that it would be so easier.
