Just started a business, how can I promote it online in an affordable way?
Hello,

I have started a business recently and it includes conducting the business online as well. As a new business it is very hard for me to advertise and I have limited budget as well. I have made a Facebook and Twitter pages already and although I have a few hundred likes and followers, I still haven't made any sales.

I have thought of buying testimonials as I don't have any customers yet, so other potential customers can be affected by their words?

What do you think?

Hi,
Well done on starting your own business. It can take some time to get established as a new business. Do you have a website? If you would like to create an online presence I would recommend that you have your own website. It doesn't cost much to create your own website. Don't rely on Social Networks totally, they are excellent for promoting but if you accidentally break one of their rules, there's a chance of being banned.

Use Social Media to get traffic to your website.

I think if you are serious about your new business, you should be honest.

It's very hard to start a new business and have it up and running. Customers would not buy from you unless you prove you are a reliable seller, you would need to build up a reputation for yourself.

And yes, a guaranteed method that will change your potential client's opinion of your store is if they hear/see satisfied customers recommend it because they are more likely to believe someone in their position rather than the seller. The major problem for starting businesses is that you haven't had any clients yet, like in your case.

I know because I have faced the same problems as you have and I have found that companies providing actor testimonials for you work surprisingly well. Once I had a couple of testimonials, people started buying. Also, I have found that video testimonials work 100% compared to only text testimonials, because when people see a real face and hear him/her speak they believe it more, while a text on your website might just be made up by yourself.

Currently, I use Genius Testimonials and I am really happy because I like the testimonials they provide me and I find them to be affordable but good.
