how do you get someone to unfollow you on twitter?

i only have a twitter account to see updates from a few celebrities. i don't want people following me. these random people have added me, and i want to know if there is a way to block them/get them to stop following me?

You can only see the updates of people you follow and not of those who follow you ( unless you follow them back ). If you did follow them back, you may simply unfollow. To check out who you are following, you may use this tool: http://friendorfollow.com/

Visit the twitter's profile of your friend you want to stop following you, click the drop down button that looks like this (*), then choose Block.
