Well, I guess not! The Christian Bible tells the faithful, "Love thy neighbor as thyself."

Free market economics is centered on becoming as wealthy as one can. This is necessarily at the expense of others, since there is only so much wealth to go around.

Was the Good Samaritan a free market entrepreneur, or was he someone with a social conscience, who showed empathy toward a man who had fallen among thieves by providing him with assistance?

Socialism says, "From each according to his ability. To each according to his need." Does this make Medicare and Medicaid socialist? Why of course it does! It also makes them wonderfully Christian.

Christ was certainly a socialist. Most of us are considerably too selfish to emulate him. We spend most of our time taking care of #!, while trying not to step into #2.
