My husband just told me that someone can hack into my computer, (laptop) and see me on my web cam without me knowing. Is this true??

no he has been reading too much web crap fairy story's

"Hacker Detection"
Start > Run > enter the following in the open box. cmd > then click OK > type in.
ipconfig /all > enter > type in. netstat -ano > enter

This will tell you what local IP address you have been given, as well as other good information.Like who's got an established link to your computer, their IP and what port their using?

then shut the fool down.

Don't stick with the Vista Firewall it only blocks incoming traffic not going out. Use comofo firewall if you dont have a good one.

Nobody can use your computer or see you on your cam UNLESS you have a virus. Somebody else commented that this cannot be done, but it can if you have a virus. Very important to keep your virus checker up to date.

I recommend Avast Antivirus free.
