How do i delete messages on facebook?

My facebook only says, to archieve messages. But how do i delete them forever?

All you have to do is press on the message and go to actions and then under archive it should say delete

Once you open the message, you get an ‘Actions’ button with a gear icon. When you click on it, you get a drop-down menu. Select ‘Delete Messages’.
