What are effective ideas for promoting or marketing a health product?

I just became an Independent Distributor for Herbalife and was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on how to go about marketing the product. I would prefer ideas not to be so costly. Thanks!

Make a video and put it on the various video sites such as youtube and yahoo videos. Write articles about the benefits of using your product(s) and submit them to the different article directories such as goarticle and ezinearticles. Put up a squidoo lens. Put up a blog such as blogger (free) and submit the blog to blog directories and social networking sites such as digg and facebook. Just a few ways to promote products and all of them are free.

If you're a distributor you really have to talk it up on social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook, Myspace and Linkedin. Remember, you're not just convincing customers to buy Herbalife, you're convincing them to buy it from you.

Well, you can invite people to a party or something & advertise. Or tell someone about it each time you meet them (if necessary).
You could set up a blog about it. To make it more famous, use Squidoo (http://www.squidoo.com). After a while, make an official website about it.
