Twitter doesn't pay you, if you post ads, the ad companies pay you. I'd say you'd need somewhere in excess of 150000 followers

Your question is directing you in the wrong direction.
You can make money on Twitter even with little or almost no followers. (You can reach people on Twitter by posting interesting tweets and they are all public, no matter how many follower someone has! People do searches on Twitter, too - and will find these tweets!) The amount of followers has nothing to do with your success. While it looks impressive if someone has thousands of thousands of followers it will tell you nothing about the financial success someone is having using Twitter. How do you actually make money using Twitter? First of all Twitter does not pay you for anything. You can use Twitter only as a tool to attract interested people. Here some ways what people do to earn money: 1. They create Twitter accounts around popular subjects like hobbies or for example environment issues and start posting INTERESTING tweets that want people to read more and to follow a Twitter account. 2. Then people create tweets that make people click on links that are: a) make people subscribe to a newsletter b) fill out a survey c) read a product or service information page where products or services are sold 3. Most Twitter accounts will gather and collect names and contact information and then send these people offers and advertising and then earn either money a) with selling their own products (software, products) b) earn affiliate money (referring people to sites like amazon, ebay and get paid a commission if someone buys something) c) getting paid with CPA Marketing, where companies pay you if you make other people fill out surveys and also leaving their contact details So Twitter is just like Facebook and other social media networks just a PLATFORM where you can find paying customers, the platform itself will NOT pay you. |
