What good is Twitter?
Twitter strikes me as catering to the narcissistic among us; those who believe that their every thought is actually worth posting. Other than an entertaining fad, what good is Twitter?

Well, a lot of fads do no good, if you think about it. They're just entertaining, and that's why people go for them.

I can understand its practicality for famous people or groups and organizations that many people follow, but for the average person, it's completely pointless.

I generally don't use Twitter to let everyone know about me. Typically, I share information or keep in touch with friends. When I read an article, watch a video, or anything really and I think my followers might be into it, I'll tweet the link.

It's also a great way to learn about topics of interest... easily search and see what others are saying, or what articles people are reading about your interest.

It's interesting to see what others are talking about by checking out the trending topics. News travels extremely quick on Twitter... within minutes after TMZ posted the news of MJ's death, thousands were passing along the info and tuning in to see what happened. Five years ago, that same message would have taken hours...

Businesses can quickly communicate with clients and consumers, take care of issues, and build a community around their brand.

With all that said, a lot of users have missed the point... and merely answer the question, "What are you doing?" But it's a lot more than that. Hit up somewhere like http://www.search.twitter.com and browse through topics that you find interesting and see what you think!

I fail to see the problem with what you are saying.

My narcissism is so incredible that it is worth of being catered to by internet phenomena.
