What does it mean when someone is following you on Twitter.....?
I just registered to Twitter just to see what it's all about. I posted one thing ( Saying that I moved ) and now I have all these people that I don't know 'following' me.

Who are these people and why are they following what I do if I dont know them?

Stalkers.

They want you to follow them.

Half of them want you to do this because they 'collect' followers (think Jesus), and half of them want you to follow them so they can sell you something.

Block them if you want.

well my friends and i all have twitter and "following" each other there just means we regularly visit their pages and read their updates and stuff.

If you dont know the people it's moreso known as "stalking"
if you dont want strangers viewing your stuff I would delete yours.

if someone is following you it means that they will be able to see anything that you post (unless you block them or other privacy settings you might have set)

It will appear on their home twitter page. Many people will just start following people arbitrarily in the hopes that anyone they follow will follow them back. Sometimes it is from people who might actually know you from the past or know someone with the same name and they just want to get reconnected.

If you have used Facebook, it is similar to adding someone as a friend.

But if you don't want them to follow you anymore, you can simply block them.

Twitter isn't much help, ironically, in supporting twitter but I found a resource that is an intro to Twitter. http://searchenginewatch.com/3633223
