I believe that Facebook became a widespread website too because more people like it.

Facebook allows people over 12 to join. They don't need to create their profiles with a lot of coding (in Myspace only). People also don't need to send message to another people's inbox everytime.

Because of word of mouth! a few people started on it and then told their friends and they told their friends etc... it's one of the most popular ways that things like that get going.

it sure has overtaken myspace in the popularity area!!!
