What are some ways i can advertize my business for free?

I am starting an online business and wondering if anyone can suggest some ways i can market it for free or at a very low cost. Please dont suggest pay per click. I think that is such a rip off because you could direct tons of traffic but it is not guaranteed that anyone will buy.

Well all of the social networking sites (Facebook, Myspace, etc...)are good options, even though there are some that would hate the idea..but those sites are in demand today.

There are also free sites that will let you create blogs--WordPress.com is a good one--check it out. After you create the blog share the link with people so they can check out info about your business!

1. Post an article about your business on related blogs and get free visitors and back links
2. Submitting to directories
3. Free classifieds
4. Forums

There are many places online that offer you the ability and affordability to post your new online business. One good way to gain back links and generally traffic to your site is through Directories. Web directories and article directories are a great way to advertise for FREE or near free! You have to post to many of them to start seeing the results of your labor. Posting to only one directory is not going to cut it! Sorry, but you have to stay consistent and get the word out about your business to as many online venues as possible. Here is a list i would consider:

1) Web Directories
2) Article Directories
3) Forums
4) Web 2.0 Sites (Social Sites e.i. twitter, diggs, etc..)

And many other ways that you can advertise for FREE and get the word out about your biz. You just have to stay on it and make it a habbit to submit your site to ALL of the above mentioned. Anything FREE means that you will put in ALL the necessary hours, time and effort to keep it free if you don't want to have to pay for someone to do this tedious task for you OR pay a service like PPC to drive traffic to your site and skip all the above mentioned!

For starters, list your site at this directory provided in the resource box below. And while you are at it, write up a nice article about your business services and publish on the site as well! The more content you have and provide about your site and business, the more traction you start to build and that includes back links pointing back to your site!
