How do I start my own clothing line?
At the moment, I'm 15 years old, but I've always wanted to have my own clothing line.
I have ideas, and I know I can make them marketable easily. It's really about having nice clothes, and marketing something "Different" or "Recognizable", as well as giving it the "Cool" factor.
I don't know how to sow, and all I can admit to actually doing is sketching designs.
What do I need to learn? And how much will it cost/what are my resources?

You need to learn how to sew for starters. When you develop a talent for creating what you envision in your head, then you can worry about the general publics approval and what to do.

Do you have a sewing machine to practice with? If not, those are incredibly expensive. You could technically sew by hand but its a real pain.
Everything else is fairly cheap, though. If you have a sewing machine, go to your local fabric store and pick up supplies. You can start practicing with stencils (of dresses, hats, coats, shirts, whatever you want) and that will get you started. Don't try creating your own designs yet, you need to start with those stencils to understand the basics of structuring a garment.

This takes a ton of practice and the first few things you come up with will suck. Just don't worry about your clothing looking good at first, focus on fit and perfecting the actual craft of sewing.

Starting a clothing line takes lots of effort and enthusiasm, it also needs thorough research, help from others, a firm belief in your vision, and above all, a good sense of fashion.

If you’re serious about starting a clothing business. You have to be constantly thinking about new products and new ways to improve your brand.

The more you know beforehand, the less time and money wasted on doing the wrong things, so you need to do some researches, test the market with a few samples, check on what your competitors offer and how successful they are and then set up a SEO friendly website, social networks to get the ball rolling. If you need more help, feel free to email me: service@teetick.com. I will be more than happy to give you some advices.
