Great content is often the best way to gain followers, like if you have a great news to tell an update etc. As long as its a Headline. Not unless if your Tom Cruise, you'll surely get a lot of followers in no time.

If you share good info about a certain topic, you'll surely gain more followers.

Just follow as many people you can, because they would be generous to follow you back. You will at least get 60% of the followers you follow back to your twitter. Off course you can also post some good content which people may find interesting to check out. Post links to interesting content which your followers like.

I follow podcasters and audio drama people because that is what interests me.
it doesn't matter how many followers you have but if anyone interacts with you, I have a couple of the podiobooks.com authors who don't follow me back but are likely to answer an @
you could put your twitter name in the question but might be better to put it on your answers profile
There are the followers you want and those you don't.
you could email me your twitter name and I would at least see if I should follow you.

I use a website called twiends: http://twiends.com/me/KrAzY_aFrIcAN you basically sign up then you have choices of either buying followers, waching youtube videos, following people or referring people. When you follow someone you earn seeds from them, and vica versa when they follow you. You can decide how many seeds you want to offer per follow, and when you run out you remain on the list so people can still follow you if they like. its really good when i first made a twitter i was dedicated to getting followers and in a week i had over 800 but i ended up deleting it because i really never used it.
