How can poverty be eliminated?
What is a fool-proof solution for prisoner rehabilitation? Is there any hope for progress to minimize hate and destitution? I believe privatization of prisons creates a market to keep prisoners coming in (business demand), and I believe non-profit organizations that ask for money to fight "noble causes" actually feed the market in an indirect way. Basically, we have been fighting these problems with our societies so long and falsely have hope in programs that don't work. What is the solution, radical, extreme, moderate, or just ignore it?
Thanks Wulfie.

The solution? With the social science incoherence in this area, we can not even frame the question properly.

Well, I am not sure that it even can be accomplished, because poverty is relative...even if EVERYONE were much richer than they are right now, some people would be less fortunate than others, and we would think them impoverished. However, here are steps that in my opinion, would take us in the right direction.

1. Education Education Education = more valuable skills and lower birth rates.
2. Achieve a global free market economy
3. Worldwide diet change - eat more grains, less meat
4. Develop nuclear energy and all renewable resources
5. Provide HIGH incentives for philanthropy from the wealthy
6. No tariffs, import/export taxes, embargoes, etc.
7. Discourage labor unions.
8. Encourage human rights.
9. Legalize all drugs/prostitution/etc. Government regulate them. Tax the hell out of them.
10. Provide universal healthcare. All other social programs should be on a very limited, extreme exceptions only basis.
11. Do away with minimum wages (they cause unemployment).

You sure know how to run the gammut of questions.

You could eliminate poverty by simply redefining it. You could kill everyone on the planet and that would do it too.

You can eliminate poverty after you get rid of corruption. Corruption maintains the poverty.
