Does it make sense for a writer of a book to not have an official website?
Or a Myspace?
Or a Twitter? Anything??? The creators of this series about a cat named Gofrette have NOTHING on the internet about the cat and the series, except for the television networks that broadcast the show. Ads |

Well, if it's not a well-known author, they probably don't have the funds to create a website or the time for anything else.

Some people are old fashioned. Some others just want privacy, and don't want to "blog" and post news.

They are probably just private people. For low budget publicity, Internet marketing is usually in the hands of the author. If they lack the time or patience, they won't do it. Sometimes authors are really not at all like you'd expect them to be, so it is better to just stay out of the public view.
For example, a great epic fantasy about good and evil written by a sarcastic, biting jerk. It might ruin it for readers. |

I wouldn't advise it but a bad account might be just as bad. Like a twitter, myspace, facebook account that is solely an ad.
Gofrette seems to have websites so that may be enough. |
