Need to use software on a network with proxy?
My network uses a proxy system with username and password. I need to connect a software to internet, but it software doesnt have proxy support. A software called Proxifier earlier worked for this purpose but has been blocked by the sysad. Is there any method or any other software i can use.

You should be talking to the sys admin. If this is at work, do you want to get fired for using non-approved software or bypassing the proxy? Every company has a usage policy and what you are asking violates that. If there is a business need, then they can accommodate for it.

Have you tried bypassing the proxy? connect the internet router to the switch and connect the proxy server and the server with software to the same switch. You can change the default gateway of the server to the ip address of the internet router or your firewall so it bypasses the proxy. all other computer will authenticate with proxy.

Firewalls, filters and network security devices can detect a proxy as soon as you connect to it. It’s actually trivial to do. All they have to do to determine if it is a proxy or a web site is to try and connect to it. If the filter gets a response the security software knows it’s a proxy and you’re toast. The only question is whether the system is set to auto block or if it emails or texts the admin and lets him do it manually, which can buy a few hours.

The other problem is that you are breaking numerous laws by trying to hack a government (most schools are government run) security system. At work, you are probably also breaking laws about hacking as well as violating your employment agreement.

Even if you do get a proxy to work for a bit what do you get? A lot of these are hacker pots designed to either steal your information or plant bots on your computer that they can use. The recent facebook and Twitter DDOS attacks the took down their entire networks is a classic example of what people using proxies and getting infected enables.

Even if it’s not a hacker pot it’s probably loaded with advertisements as that’s how the owner is making money. In either case the owner has no incentive to provide fast response or high bandwidth. The owner of the proxy is using you and delivering very little back to you.

At the end of the day you’re just wasting a lot of time that could be spent doing something more productive at best and risking your computer and more at the worst.

You can always use another proxy if the one your using right now is blocked. To be unblocked, use anyone from the list below. they are new, fast and should be unblocked for sure !!
