what are good promotions for a business?
My parents own a boutique that includes clothing, shoes, accessories, and purses. They also own an inside flea market and a balloon shop. So ideas for all of these would be good.

First separate your inclusive items to sell such as clothing, shoes, accessories & purses, then use exclusive design for them to promote your advertisement; as use a good & simple name to brand your items, that is exclusivity of business advertisement `but always use lucrative keywords to attract a large mass attention whatever goods you want to promote. One thing you should keep in mind that use of relevant keywords should bear similarity of your promoting goods & use of such techniques may lead your business at run.

Another thing I would like to bring into your attention is your business is type of local business and there is a huge scope for Local businesses to grow. If you can prove to your CURRENT CUSTOMERS that your product is worth the price, then I certainly your business will spread through word of mouth. In case of local business, this type of promotions brings in more and more customers. Also start some kind of referral programs, then people will take pleasure in promoting your business through word of mouth.

Introduce your self in Facebook. But you have to be choosy while finding friends. That means make friends with people residing in your locality/city. Offer gift coupons through Facebook FBML. well decorate your FBML based on your business.

Update people about new items in your shop. Click some pictures of the beautiful products and showcase them in FBML. You may also create an account in Twitter and follow the same rules while choosing who to follow.

As your parents should know from having a balloon shop, those in the balloon industry say that a very inexpensive and effective way to advertise a business is to print the logo and a phrase and/or name (of the business) on balloons. Now if your parents' balloon shop does not include custom imprinting, there are plenty of balloon imprinters on the Internet that will be happy to do so. Just type the key words "custom balloon"in your favorite search engine and a plethora of websites will appear that does this sort of thing. I hope you can send me some if your parents elect to go this route.
