how i stop lag on my iphone?

my iphone 2g is unlocked and jailbroken and i've never had this problem until now. when i open my app store, contacts, sms, it takes upwards of 3 seconds to show me names.

i've tried uninstalling all my packages and themes and applications, restarting/rebooting/respringing

nothing is working and this is bugging me has anyone else had this problem?

i would suggest reinstalling firmware, thats about the only thing left, jailbroken phones end up meaning one thing, broken

This happens to everything with time, especially when you change the firmware.
The original and 3G iPhone has even less RAM than the new iPhone, as I'm sure you know. This makes it an incredibly slow device. Apps are usually only given about 40MB to run in the first place, probably less with a hacked up phone.
Hope you find a solution. Even buying the new iPhone after Apples January 27'th event (assuming a tablet or new iPhone will be announced).
