Why do liberals say conservatives are not open to new ideas?
As far as I can tell the only two options politically are:

Government
Free market

Government has failed at literally every social endeavor it has involved itself with

The only other option is utopian, but that is just make believe
Add: Liberals don't have any new ideas anyway. Their idea is to let the government take over, that has been tried before

Liberals are close minded people. So they think everyone is also close minded.

The free market has failed many times. Government provides the safety nets so that when the free market fails the people don't starve. Government provides protections to stop the abuses that end in economic calamity. Stop repeating simple-minded catch phrases and think things through. Study history also.

I don't know why can't we have both like in France the government pays for health care and education and even pays everyone's wages for 8 weeks a year so they can have a vacation and they are doing better than we are.

You seem to be a text book example of what they mean, Both of you options are old idea that have been debated for hundreds years, and you do not consider the other possibilities that are now available because of new technology or even some of even older ones that no longer are popular..

We were all sooo rich following Regans "Supply side, union busting, tax breaking" economy that the Savings and loan industry collapsed following his terms.
The President then couldn't blame him because he had been the Veep.
So he started a war instead.

Clinton cleaned up the mess, raised taxes on the rich and left office with a surplus !

Which the next Conservative spent on what ? Tax cuts for the rich. Then he started a war.

I understand the GOP isn't exactly a place of intelligence, but even they can see a pattern can't they ?
Are they so reliant on the short attention span of the public they are willing to try to run on it again ?
Go ahead,it should be interesting.
