How to I become more social?

I'm very quiet in school, but I talk a lot around my family. I want to change that some how. I want to be more social and talkative in school, but without getting in trouble in class and doing things just to get attention....I'm not sure if that makes sense, but any advise will be helpful.

Just talk to more people crack a few jokes. You wont get in trouble dont seem like such a loaner.

Maybe join a club at school that reflects one of your interests, this way you are likely to meet people with similar interests that may not be in your normal classes. Because of your similar interests its likely you will get on and may be able to socialise with them out of school hours.

haha this happen to me before. The First challenge is Ask More question. Which is good. Why? Cause you listen more than talk. Therefore, this will improve your communication skills.The Second Challenge is Share your opinion as it is awkward for a person to go to another and say "hi.." Then accompanied with an awkward silence. If you are interested in relationship, ask friends ( mostly female are more interested ) about what they like. This actually helps you to be open-minded instead of struggling to make a great first impression to a person. Confidence is the Key.

Start at an easier level - smile at other students whose lockers are near yours. Just say small things to class mates -ie) wasn't that interesting/boring - don't wait for an answer just move on. Once your classmates know that you are willing to talk, when they then see you alone they are ore likely to try to include you in their conversations. I personally prefer shy and taciturn people to over confident and loud mouth people. You'll be Ok and you'll get this sorted............even if you just end up with a small circle of like minded people that is preferable to aiming to get into a group that is full of self obsessed know alls. Good luck - it will all come right.
