We would then soon be living in a Fascist State.... for one thing President Bush has done nothing to be impeached for... for another a "social revolution" in connection with a Leftist like Obama, would be Fascist by definition.

If the socialistic revolution starts it may cause a shooting revolution.
There is a breaking point for everyone.

Hypothetical scenario follows:

Instead of government bailouts of financial institutions, you see government takeover of those same institutions under guise of temporary "regulation." Once government controls the money markets, you see government takeover of strategic, national security supporting, companies (chemical plants, refineries, manufacturing, farming). Once the government has control of your paychecks, your ownership rights begin disappearing (housing, guns, etc). Soon you are renting "your" house from the government. All the while the government has been the "nice guy," handing out free, if modest, sums of money to the "downtrodden" to keep everyone in line. Next come the secret police, because there is much unrest from conservative groups. Then comes the single party elections, and likely the same a-hole gets "elected" year after year since the "voting" is a farce. Top military personnel are replaced with party members. Congress becomes a puppet of the Executive. Years of insurgent activity ensues, because you can never get rid of all the guns. Eventually civil war comes to throw off the yoke of oppression, and capitalism returns.

Sounds far-fetched? See Venezuela, or pre-1996 Romania, or China, North Korea, Poland, or much of eastern Europe (and some of western Europe) post WWII, or the USSR.

More than likely though, we the people (or some of us anyway) would catch on, having always been wary of the "great Red threat." We would oust the socialist bastards before they even got started, with force if necessary.
