for free or second alternative, low cost. I am building a site for services offered and am at the stage where I need to set it out for the world to see and react. What steps do I need to take to proceed? Don't have the budget to spend thousands to make it visible, but hundreds is possible, but less is even better. Do I need to spend a lot to make it a lot visible?

Actually there are many method to advertise your site.

For free advertising, maybe you can join forum and actively involved in the discussion. Usually you can put signature below your post. So put your site name in the signature box and maybe a little explanation what your site all about. More post you made, more people will see your site.
