My friends say its not but I want to be sure cause I jailbreak iPods and put hacks on them is it eligle

Jail breaking and installing cydia is not illegal, however installing paid app from sources as installous is illegal, including cracked software which you can obtain through repo's in cydia. Try to buy your software since some took a lot of effort and time to create what you're using. Hope this helps.
