Can anyone suggest some plot outlines for my new short story entitled Of Rats And Republicans?

The story is loosely based on the Steinbeck novel and also tells of two drifters and their travels.

Dick, a "free market republican" and trust fund baby constantly complains of the weak and lazy while stealing his challenged friend Tommy's Disability Check each month.

The story opens with the drunken Dick in a bar in Louisiana loudly bashing social safety nets in front of shrimpers left unemployed by the BP Oil Spill and Tommy trying to rescue him before they beat him to death.

Any ideas to help with the plot will be appreciated.

Whatever happens, at the end of the book, Dick has to 'accidentally' shoot Tommy in the face.

I think you don't understand that the Shrimpers abhor Social Safety Nets more than Dick does. They are all hardworking, self-reliant, private entrepreneurs who are very disgusted with the Federal Government and their handling of the BP spill and do not want to be paid not to work.

You might have a bit of a hard time with the unemployed Oil Rig workers that have lost their jobs due to the Big Government Obama moratorium on deep sea oil drilling. You seem to misunderstand most Americans. Americans cannot be pacified with government handouts when it is government that is preventing them from being self-reliant.

Their problem isn't Dick the "trust fund baby" because most "trust fund babies" tend to be Liberals like Paris Hilton. The problem is Academic Elitists who have never done and honest day's work nor run anything in their lives who now are seeking to fundamentally transform America into the same kind of chaotic mess that Europe has become.

A nice twist at the end would be for the child to awaken and realize she had fallen asleep listening to MSNBC, thus causing her deluded and childish dream. Determined not to fall victim to leftist indoctrination, she rushes out to find a job babysitting or delivering newspapers and becomes a productive member of society, and not a leftist troll.

here is an idea, how about you write about something that will make you money, rather than writing about a fictional satire that is based on false stereo types.
