How do I get my domain to show up in search engines?
I just started a new website http://www.testkitsathome.com and I am wanting to know how to get it seen on the major search engines. I submitted my site to Google a couple weeks ago and still don't see me out there. Any help?

You need to have the right key words, and stay active on your site. Getting traffic will help too. There are many ways to increase your website's effectiveness, lots of "tricks of the trade". Check the link below and look at the free tutorial. It helped me out a lot when putting up a website recently.

Content is king. Google isn't going to rank a site just because it is selling something. I'd very much like to take on a project like yours because I see the profit potential.

I would get the users involved. Provide articles and make it easy for user feedback. Creating a kind of social network for people who have problems which your test kits help solve, could send conversions through the roof.

You need unique, keyword rich content and plenty of it. Some terms are easier to rank for depending upon competition. You can do keyword research with google's free keyword too. (just google it and it will come up)

A major part of google's ranking algorithms are linking structure. You need a good mix of back links pointing at your site for google to really pay attention to it. Some strategies of back linking are: Article marketing (ezinearticles.com), Youtube marketing, Blog commenting, social bookmarking (digg), and social networking (twitter).

I hope that helps. It's really hard to explain them in tremendous detail. Keep doing those strategies and googe will pick up your site first, then the others will follow. Yahoo and MSN can be kinda slow with their indexing.

For getting listed in search engines you have to select proper keywords and have to collect quality backlinks
