What's the best way to get Twitter followers, without following anyone?

I'm wondering how I can get Twitter followers without following anyone? I've seen alot of people who do it.. but they "follow" alot of people to get people to follow them back.

I don't want that.. I just want followers sent straight to my Twitter profile without having to follow a bunch of other people in return.

Is this possible??

Advertise in the Real World. Rent a billboard on a busy highway for a couple of months.

Call up a local radio talk show, pretend to be working for some "Good Cause", and mention your Twitter account on the air. If this works, it might be nice to actually donate something to some actual Good Cause.

Be someone Famous out in the Real World. Such as, for example, I imagine Lindsey Lohan has a lot of followers. She probably doesn't have time to follow people back, what with all the parties, court time, rehab time, and "borrowing" expensive jewelry.
