How to get more Twitter followers?

I recently got a twitter a couple days but I'm wondering how I can get more twitter followers. I have a Livejournal but it's not very popular so that won't really help me get followers and none of my friends use it either. How do normal people get some 200 followers and ones that actually interact with them? Any tips?

just keep it real and tweet what your doing, i had 400followers then lost 200 because i stopped tweeting for a month but i got back upto 319 followers. i just tweet what im doing like im going the gym or im watching keeping up with the kardashians. people will follow you if what your doing interests them check my tweets if you want http://www.twitter.com/monica100m
