How do i view a Direct Message on Twitter?

I received a direct message and responded. But now, when i click on Direct Messages, all i can see is my response. How do i see the original message?
I did click on the DM link, and i can see the person there, but i can only see my reply, not the original DM.

Log in to your Twitter account by entering your user name and password into the "Sign In" box on the Twitter homepage.

View the menu on the right-hand side of your Twitter page that displays your Twitter name on the top and provides options beneath your name.
Choose "Direct Messages" by clicking on the link. View your direct messages once you have clicked on this option.
