What exactly is the "digital strategy" of a company/brand?
For my marketing class i need to describe the digital strategy of Vitaminwater. I understand that it's basically the goals of the brand, and the ideas of how to implement these goals to be successful in online/mobile/etc. But what i'm having trouble is identifying the exact strategy of this brand without working/being on the inside.
Can somebody clarify this for me? Ads |

A successful digital strategy is a plan and vision that ensures all of your digital channels are well coordinated and optimised for your customer and business needs.

There are ways to try and infer the digital strategy using some free tools out there.
Search strategy: Check out SpyFu.com or SEMRush.com. If you compare the company to its competitors you can gain insights into where they are focusing their efforts (Do they rely more on paid search or organic? What keywords are they buying/targeting?). Content strategy: Browse the website itself. Are they selling their products or simply marketing them? What kind of content do they have? Is it product-centric or brand-centric? Compare it to competitors to add context. Mobile strategy: Do they have an app or mobile website? Social strategy: What are they doing on Facebook, Twitter, etc.? SEO/referral strategy: How many pages are indexed by Google? How many backlinks are there? Compare to competitors. |
