PBA: Lol. Are you really that gullible to think that people on YA look like their avatars?

We don't. We just have too much compassion for our countrymen to abandon them to the abuses of free market capitalism.
Why do cons think that a truly healthy society can operate under social Darwinism? |

Plenty of people in homeless shelters. We do not have a welfare state where anyone gets free money

Why do conservatives think that a truly healthy society can operate as a Darwinian modern version of Ancient Sparta where the weak are punished into strength and the strong are glorified in their abuses?

We believe that a truly healthy society takes care of its own, and the poor ARE our own.
Countries are ultimately judged by how they treat their most vulnerable citizens. We take care of them. Somalia does not. Move to Somalia where there is no welfare state, no central government...no regulations. The conservative dream. |

Works fine for lots of countries.
Besides, what are you talking about? Your pet corporations get billions in welfare -- and can't create half the jobs small businesses do without your handouts (see sba.gov). Oh, yeah -- that socialist (and it is) mandatory health insurance -- that is the concept of SOCIALIST candidate Romney. That's what the is. His policies as governor prove it. Actions speak louder that words. |

I doubt we agree about what a truly healthy society looks like, and so have different opinions about how to create one.
I do not think a truly healthy society has families with full time worker that can not afford heath care or to send their children to college, A welfare state has a government that subsidies both so that ordinary people can afford them. |
