How can i advertise my site on a search engine?

I have a dating site and would like it to be found on a search engine, but i know nothing about all this or how to

1) Submit your site to the SE Directories (MOTHER GGOGLE, YAHOO, BING), the big three
2) Submit your site to "niche" directories: DMOZ.org, others -that are "niche" specific re. your dating services
3) Submit and write original content articles to article directories re. dating etc, provide helpful "how to tips" for dating 101 per se, with a link back to your website
4) make sure you are using social networking sites (facebook, twitter, etc) to gain additional market exposure.

For organic method your sites should be search engine friendly and try to get as much as back links.
