Paulbots why did libertarianism?
Why did countries like chile and iceland fail when they became libertarian

Chile free market
In twenty years, foreign debt quadrupled, natural resources were wasted, universal health care was abandoned (leading to epidemics of typhoid fever and hepatitis), unions were outlawed, military spending rose (for what? who the hell is going to attack Chile?), social security was "privatized" (with predictable results: ever-increasing government bailouts) and the poverty rate doubled, from 20% to 41%. Chile's growth rate from 1974 to 1982 was 1.5%; the Latin American average was 4.3%.

To me, Libertarians are just like liberals/socialists. Despite knowing that socialism does not work, Liberals believe that THIS TIME they'll get it right. The same goes for Libertarianism.

One question I would like to ask the Libertarian is that if people are good enough to govern over themselves without infringing upon the freedoms and rights of others, then why aren't these same good people good enough to govern over people through government?

Either we can trust humanity or we cannot - people are not trustworthy in some circumstances, and not trustworthy in others.

If you rephrase your question without the fake word "paulbots" I'm more likely to answer it.

Yet the US became the richest and most prosperous because of a free market and it has gone down since the free market was ended and 60 thousand regulations and multiple agencies to enforce them were brought in.

I don't know whats going on in Chile but I do know things keep getting worse in America now that the free market is gone and regulations are shutting down competition for big business. Banks and corporations own the government and regulations only exist to shut down their competition. They aren't giving billions to these politicians every year for nothing.

Lets take your points and apply them to the United States. (Assuming they are correct)

Foriegn Debt Quadrupled: That is a result of too much government power, and too much of a willingness to spend on behalf of the government. Debt can only be perpetuated in a fiat monetary system, which I am assuming they have. You cant have debt under a gold, silver, or any type of commodity backed currency. Already, i can tell you, that was not a true libertarian society.

Natural resources were wasted: (Im not exactly sure what you mean by this. Please be more descriptive.)

Universal healthcare was abandoned: Since the United States inception, we never once had a universal healthcare system, yet were able to find cures for diseases such as polio, small pox, etc. Epidemics have never truly affected the US, so your point is moot. You want a real comprehensive and easy plan to solving the healthcare crisis? Make healthcare costs 100% tax deductable by changing the ERISA laws, Remove federal laws disbanding healthcare companies from competing across state and international borders to help lower costs, and allow alternative medicine to be prescribed by your doctor, instead of ONLY pharmaceutical drugs approved by the FDA. There are many treatments that cant be pantented, and are very, if not more effective. Yet since they cant be patented, doctors cant presribe them. Some of these treatments are even out of pocket, so you can pay for them right there in the office.

Unions were outlawed: Libertarians support private unions and the right of people to organize into groups to barter for better benefits. Libertarians oppose the idea that states or unions would compel people to join an union as a condition of employment at a facility or in a trade. In terms of rights, Libertarians assert that rights do not come to groups, but are given to individuals as a birth right. The right to work where one person chooses is one of those rights. Again, this does not coincide with libertarian ideology. Your point is again moot.

Military spending rose: Defense spending is the only spending that should truly be in place. Everything else is during active wartime. That is at fault of the government, not the people.

Social security was privatized; Libertarians differ on this topic. Some believe it should be optional to pay into it. Which is my stance. Others believe it should be abolished altogether. (Which I also wouldnt have a problem with. SS is already set to become insolvent.)

Poverty rate doubled: This could be the result of many things. Wether it be too much government intervention within the market, or too much inflation caused by excessive printing of money, OR aquiring too much debt. Whatever the reason, it was not caused simply by having a libertarian society. That is way besides the point. After all, you dont just spend your way into debt without consulting a plan to get yourself out correct?

In conclusion, most of your points are moot, and hold no basis to blame libertarian philosophy. In fact, some of them dont even coincide with libertarian philosophy.
