How do you get alot of followers on Tumblr?

I want more followers, but I don't know how to get alot.

So you want to be Tumblr famous?
Try following a lot of people. Post stuff from your heart, or deep, relatable thoughts. Try to be yourself and not sound like other, regular blogs.

Well there really is no such thing as "tumblr famous" otherwise it would be just like myspace, facebook, twitter, etc.

To get more followers you can:
- follow other people with good blogs and see if they follow/like/reblog you and your posts.
- ask other blogs for promotions (promos are when people tell their followers to follow you)
- ask people to recommend you so you can be a featured blog

Most people who are Tumblr famous are people who do follow for follows. Lame, I know, but most of the time if you follow someone and your blog is halfway decent, you'll get a follow back. If you actually talk to the people you follow and they haven't refollowed, they'll probably end up doing it later on if they like you, and might recommend you to their other followers.

Tips to getting more followers-
Post lots, don't go too long without posting something or your followers will lose interest.
Post interesting stuff, people don't want to see pictures of your cat or what you are wearing that day, it just isn't interesting.
Make posts that vary, like don't always post pictures, and don't always make text posts. That gets boring.
Advertise like you are on here.
Like and reblog people's pictures so your name gets out there more.
Reply to people's questions.
And some people just follow back when you follow them.
