Unique tips for a good and enjoyable yard sale?
Considering renting a credit card machine for it simply because people rarely carry any cash now. Cash would still be an option but my guess is sales would be easier for credit cards. Any drawbacks there?

I'm terrible with sales and marketing so I don't know how I'm going to run this successfully but I have to get some of the stuff out of this house before I go nuts. Any uncommon tips frequent yard-alers might have to offer?

I would weigh the pros and cons of renting a credit card machine. How much does it cost to rent one and what percentage do you get to keep off each transaction. Also, when you think of "yard sale" you don't expect to see someone with a credit card machine (from my experience). I think people would be hesitant to give their credit card to you...

In terms of marketing, put signs up, let all of your friends and family know via Facebook, Twitter, etc. Set up a lemonade (or something else) stand and make an event of it.
