How can you say the large gap between the rich and poor is a bad thing, if you support capitalism?

Not that I support communism, but if true communism was to be achieved, there shouldn't be any gap.
Scandinavian countries have moved away from capitalism into a more socialist economy, ultimately they have some of the highest standards of living and social equality in the world.

It beats supporting Communism where that gap gets even worse.

It's not necessary to have such a large gap between the income levels, even in capitalism.
Communism is a daydream, it cannot exist, there will always be the desire to set oneself above another, whether by privilege or money. It's human nature.

But Japan is pretty capitalistic, and they don't have fantastic executive salaries, only two men in the country make more than a million a year, and one of them is the head of Toyota.
When someone speaks about that gap they don't mean you pay the CEO the same as the janitor, they mean you don't pay him four thousand times as much as the janitor.
The CEO of Wal mart for instance, makes more in an hour than his average worker makes in an entire year.

That is unreal, sure, pay him his millions, but that many millions more?

Do not confuse Mixed Free Market systems with Capitalism and Socialism. All are hybrids.

Right and Left are based on the seating arrangement in the French Estates Generale. The Monarchists who supported the king and the aristocracy sat on the right, and the Democrats who supported popular rule and equality sat on the left. Extremists of both sides sat in the wings.

Communists would sit on the extreme left wing because they believe in complete equality in both power and wealth, with more moderate Social Democrats sitting on the left center because they are primarily democrats who support regulated mixed free markets and tolerate a degree of disparity in wealth.

Capitalists would sit on the right because they support an unequal hierarchical distribution of power and wealth, but in addition to Monarchists, Plutocrats and Aristocrats, who are dead set against any attempts to level the playing field, the right also contains moderate Conservatives and Laissez Faire Capitalists who are willing to welcome people to the upper class if they are able to garner power and wealth through effort and luck, in addition to those who inherit it.

If you have too much wealth concentration, you can't have real capitalism. The rich don't spend all the money they have. They horde it, and it therefore stays out of the economy, and the labor market suffers. It's not black and white, but this country needs more income equality to survive. Since most people are primarily self interested, the only way to do this is make the taxes higher on the rich and have strict compensation rules.

They also have the lowest number of people that makes a big difference as thee gap our moving away from capitalism is what has caused that. What i mean is this government controls everything which means it is no longer a capitalist country especially the last three years as obama picks winner and losers. GM and GM dealers, Chry and Chry dealers.
