What is the absolute best way to draw traffic to your website?

In reading about this on the internet, there are supposedly a million and one ways to do this. I have posted articles, press releases, participated in forum groups, used keywords on my website, etc. but would like to see better results. Would like to hear from someone who can speak from experience and has had success. Thanks!

Unfortunately, there is no 1 "best" way to drive traffic to your website. Marketing, especially internet marketing, is all about trying anything and everything to see what works the best in terms of actually producing the highest possible return on your investment. Whether your investment is time or money, your site should be paying you back somehow by making you money or freeing up more time in the day for you to do other things.

Some of the best things you can try for driving people to your site are the following:
- search engine optimization
- pay per click advertising
- social media marketing (Facebook, Twitter, Yelp, Flickr, etc)
- blogging
- viral marketing (unique, catchy videos are always good)
- link building
- affiliate marketing
- press releases
- article submissions
- word of mouth / referrals (always the best kind of traffic)

None of these are better than any of the others across the board as your marketing should be focused on reaching certain goals. I have found that utilizing all of these things has been far better than focusing all of my time / money in just one of them.

Try getting back links, it will increase search engine traffic. Some of the ways you can advertise your website are:
1. Promotions on related blogs
2. Submitting to directories
3. Free classifieds
4. Forums

1. Write and submit articles . It is a classic, but it works. This will create traffic for years to come. Write quality unique articles, not articles that are regenerated or provide no substance for readers.

2. Submit ads to a high pagerank and high traffic Classified ad site such as USFreeads.

3. Make sure to view related products on Amazon.com. You can try and take some customers from your competitors here by providing your own url if the product is similar.

4. Review websites in your niche on Alexa to try to take some of their traffic by including a reference back to your site.

5. Comment on other related blogs, but do not spam.

6. If you purchase a product that you actually like, then feel free to leave a testimonial. You should be able to get some traffic from that website if your testimonial is left with a url.

7. Whenever you send an email to someone, include your website url as a signature.

8. Keep updating content on your websites/blogs… try at least once per week, if not twice.

9. Tag blog posts at social bookmarking sites. Sign up to Onlywire.

10. Add pictures to your blog with appropriate keywords.
